TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES MADE AT RIVARD PLAZA COMMAND CENTER
Release Date: February 22, 2012
The Conservancy's Security Command Center at Rivard Plaza recently received an extensive upgrade to its monitoring technology thanks to a grant from Wayne County Homeland Security. The upgrade included the addition of eight new security cameras placed between the area of the new Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority and Joe Louis Area.
"The upgrades are a definite plus - new wireless DVR technology combined with the additional cameras will allow our officers to better serve visitors to the riverfront ", says Mac McCracken , Director of Operations and Security.
McCracken goes on to note, "The riverfront is really a model of collaboration at its best; the new upgrades are fantastic and simply add to the wonderful relationships forged with our partners at the Wayne County Sheriffs' Office, Detroit Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol, General Motors Security and Renaissance Center Security - all of us working together to ensure that the riverfront remains safe and secure for all to enjoy."
