King has been employed by the City of Detroit for 26 years.

He began his career in the Engineering Department of the Detroit Water and Sewage. Terrence held many positions in the Water and Sewage Department, including Superintendent of Maintenance and Construction, Head of the Urban Water Inspection Team, and Assistant Director of Asset Maintenance.

In 2008, Terrence was promoted to Director of the General Services Department where he was responsible for overseeing the cities Building Operations, Maintenance, Inventory, and Fleet Operations Divisions.

In 2010, Terrence became a member of Mayor Dave Bing's Executive Team as the Group Executive of Operations where he oversaw seven City Departments. Currently he serves as the Group Executive of Transportation where he is responsible for the Coleman A. Young Municipal Airport, Department of Transportation, Detroit People Mover and Municipal Parking Division.

Terrence is committed to moving the City of Detroit forward, as well as preserving its unique history.
