The non-profit Detroit RiverFront Conservancy was formed in 2003 with the mission of bringing public access to Detroit's Riverfront and serving as a catalyst for economic development in the city. The ultimate vision is to develop five and a half miles of riverfront from the Ambassador Bridge to just east of the MacArthur (Belle Isle) Bridge.
Thanks to the strength of our public/private partnership, the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy celebrates the successful completion of three miles of development on the east Riverfront, including pavilions, plazas, parks and green space, all connected by the ever popular RiverWalk. Already it is becoming an extension of Detroiters' backyards and a not-to-be-missed destination for visitors.

The Detroit River Days Festival presented by the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, returns June 21-23, 2013. The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy is bringing the Detroit River, our source of drinking wwater, irrigation, recreation and a gateway for shipping and transportation for more than 300 years, back into the spotlight. By creating a natural environment in an urban setting, we are reconnecting people with nature, each other, their communities and with the river that has been the very lifeline of Detroit.
While there is much to celebrate and many milestones have been reached, there is much work that remains to be completed. The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy continues to raise funds to support costs associated with the construction and our ongoing operations, maintenance, security and programming, as we strive to complete our vision for a beautifully transformed and vibrant riverfront - from "bridge to bridge" and beyond.
There are many ways you can support the Conservancy's work and be a part of the historic development of the Riverfront.
