December 18, 2014 [DETROIT] - This year was a banner year for the Conservancy in terms of receiving accolades for its successful riverfront revitalization efforts, with the organization receiving awards at a local, regional, national and even international level.

Among the recognition received this year:

  • In April, the Conservancy was recognized by the American Planning Association with a prestigious Planning Excellence Award for Implementation. 

  • This summer, the organization was honored by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments with a Regional Ambassador Award for leadership and service. 

  • This fall, the Mt. Elliott Park project received kudos as one of the finalists for the Development/Redevelopment of the Year from ULI Michigan. 

  • In October, the Detroit Riverfront was named one of the 10 Best American Riverfronts by readers of USA Today.  Thank you to all the supporters who voted for the Detroit riverfront.

  • Last month, the Conservancy received the prestigious Excellence on the Waterfront Honor Award from The Waterfront Center during a gala in Washington, D.C.
