September 12, 2014 [DETROIT]-  Damon Tooles, President and CEO of Tooles Contracting Group, prides himself on his company’s commitment to the community. Established in 2002, the company has shown that it takes its commitment to being a good corporate citizen seriously, supporting numerous charitable causes and organizations each year, including the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity, Detroit Public Safety and Think Detroit PAL.

“I believe it is important to give something back to the greater Detroit community,” said Tooles.  “It’s where we live, work and play.” As a Detroit-based and headquartered firm, Tooles prides itself on our commitment to the downtown and surrounding communities. That commitment also includes the responsibility of being a good corporate citizen by supporting numerous charitable causes and organizations each year such as the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy.

As sponsor of the Shimmer on the River VIP reception, Tooles Contracting Group is one of the event’s biggest sponsors this year.  Supporting the Conservancy is something that Tooles takes a great amount of pride in as well.

“The Conservancy has done an excellent job bringing public access to Detroit's riverfront and serving as a catalyst for economic development in the city,” said Tooles.  “It has been transformed right before our very eyes. As a company and as individuals, it is rewarding for us to be a part of the incredible transformation. Thanks to the Conservancy, we can now boast about our beautifully restored riverfront in the heart of a vibrant downtown.”

Tooles has worked with the Conservancy on several major projects. They recently completed Mt. Elliott Park along the east riverfront and are currently serving as general contractor on the Interim Walkway Improvements Clean & Safe project along the west riverfront project. Other local projects include the renovation and expansion of Cobo Center and East English Village Preparatory Academy for Detroit Public Schools.
