June 14, 2015 [Detroit] - West Riverfront Park is becoming known as a destination for musical performances of all varieties, so it’s fitting that the Conservancy’s picturesque park featured some “heavy metal” of a different kind during the family friendly “Touch-A-Truck” event on Sunday, May 17.

More than 1,000 children and their families participated in the free event that allowed kids of all ages to sit in the driver’s seat, kick some tires and explore more than 30 vehicles, including those used by professionals in construction, public safety, transportation and other industries.

The event also allowed Touch-A-Truck guests to meet the individuals who use these vehicles while helping build, maintain, beautify and serve our community.

Food trucks, music and oversized lawn games rounded out the day’s festivities.  Based on the smiling faces, Touch-A-Truck is sure to become an annual tradition for the Conservancy on the west riverfront.
