About This Greenway

The Dequindre Cut Greenway is a nearly two-mile long below-grade recreational pedestrian path, connecting Eastern Market to the Detroit Riverfront and the residential neighborhoods in between.

The greenway features a 20-foot-wide paved pathway, which includes separate lanes for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

Well-known for its stunning examples of urban artwork and graffiti, the greenway also features the unique Freight Yard, a gathering space comprised of nine repurposed shipping containers that showcase a wine and beer garden, food trucks, and entertainment throughout the summer months.

The Dequindre Cut is also a key part of the 27.5-mile Joe Louis Greenway, making it an important landmark for both locals and visitors to the area.

Entrance ramps to the Dequindre Cut are located at Atwater Street, Franklin Street, Woodbridge Street, Lafayette Street, Gratiot Avenue, Wilkins Street and Mack Avenue.
