We Walk Detroit
A 1-hour fitness walk along the Detroit Riverfront
Sun. July 19, 2026 @ 8:00AM
The Sport House is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The William Davidson Sport House is a striking open-air pavilion and signature feature of Ralph Wilson Park that will serve as a vibrant, multi-use hub for recreation and community gatherings.
The structure houses two Detroit Pistons full-size basketball courts under a large skylight in a weather-protected space. More than just a place to play, the Sport House will be a year-round gathering spot where people of all ages can connect, be active, and enjoy the riverfront.
The overall structure is over 28,000 square feet, featuring 33 steel columns and a 2000 square foot skylight.
The Sport House is named after Detroit philanthropist and businessman, William "Bill" Davidson (1922-2009), whose foundation granted more than $11 million to the ongoing transformation of the Detroit Riverfront.
Sponsored by MSU Federal Credit Union
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is partnering with Come Play Detroit to provide skilled basketball facilitators as play leaders at the Detroit Pistons Courts at the William Davidson Sport House. Play leaders will ensure all visitors to these special courts have a great experience by serving as our basketball ambassadors supporting players at all levels, encouraging safe play, and ensuring access to equitable playing time for visitors of all age, skill, and gender.
Thank you to MSU Federal Credit Union for supporting the Play Leaders program at the William Davidson Sport House.
